Two Methods for PC Users to Update Hardware Drivers

Drivers influence the performance of the computer. If the drivers in computer are outdated, you will notice with obvious signs, like the computer runs very slowly or even freezes or crushes. So it’s very necessary to update drivers. How? Here are two ways.

You can find, download and update the drivers by yourself.

Method one: Find the Manufacturer and Model of Your Device.

Well, consider this solution needs you to do it all by yourself, so you have to know the basic information about computer. If you think you do, then we can begin step by step.

1. Click “Start” to access in “Control Panel”, and then you will see “System”.

2. Click on the “Hardware” tab at the top of the box and then click “Device Manager”.

3. Now you can see a bunch of driver, including Disk Drivers, Display adapters, DVD drivers, mouse drivers and keyboard drivers etc. Depend on which driver you want to update, you can click the Plus (+).

For example, if you want to update Display adapters, click on the plus on that item, and then you will see the relevant device. Right click on the device, choose Properties. A window will pop up, choose Driver, and now you can see the driver manufacturer, driver mode and driver version. The last step is to search the right driver with the information you just found in Google. Find it, download it and install it.

What do you think of this method? A little bit complicated? If you really don’t know how to operate, find someone who knows, ask him to do it on his own computer and record pc screen, I think you’ll figure out with the video demo.

How about the second way which is to use the software? There is lots of driver update software that can help you detect the driver manufacturer and model, help you find the right driver automatically. The only thing you need to do is to download the driver that it has found for you. To be honest, I wouldn’t bother myself to figure out the driver mode and then search it in Google. I mean that takes a lot of time, using driver update software is more convenient.

Also you still need to choose the best software, personally I recommend Driver Detective Software, which can scan your computer for all hardware devices and then compare your current drivers with a large database of the most up to date drivers available. You are then able to download each driver easily with the click of a button.

Each way can help you update the drivers, and you can choose the most suitable one.
