Ganguly nominated in BCCI's technical committee
Thursday 20th, November 2008

After retiring from international cricket, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly will begin his second innings outside the fence as a technical committee member of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

'Sourav Ganguly has been nominated to the technical committee of the BCCI,' board secretary N. Srinivasan said in a statement Thursday.

Ganguly bid adieu to international cricket in the fourth Test against Australia in Nagpur earlier this month. Ganguly, however, has expressed his interest in playing Ranji Trophy for Bengal.

The technical committee deals with the rule changes and other technical aspect related to the game.

The committee, headed by former captain Sunil Gavaskar also has chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth and former Test batsman Chetan Chauhan, among others.

hi anissa, its nice of u to gather ,rather observe those so called changes. What i wanna say is that its not only the great power brings greate responsibilities but also the greate responsibilitties bring great potentials too as there is a great opportunities ahead which other wise will be missed for ever. And so if sourav got in we can not just guess, but can waite until the time comes.Coz he truely has got a Still young mind to go ahead.
thank you and keep in touch.

Why did Ganguly take up this job? If i would have been in his place I would have rejected this offer. After humiliation from BCCI which forced him to retire from Indian cricket and also speaking against BCCI in many interviews given to the media, I see no point in joining as technical committee member of BCCI.

Dear Annisa, I read the blog. Sorry I think you have still to learn to write on blog. Nevermind, I am sure since you have started it you shall learn it. To talk about Ganguli, he is being victimised as other Bengalis are in India.

This is a privilege for SG to recapture the roots of Indian Cricket and his endeavour should be positive and encouaging so that he will introduce and establish himself in his second innings by propagating the Indian Cricket to the summit and creating a new ear to Indian cricket aspirants and fans.

Comment 32: By Murali Mohan on 21st Nov 2008
Hi Annisa,

There is one important observation as per your inputs that is really true to any profession i.e., being a part of the game to make the changes effective ie., your quote copied "Ganguly, however, has expressed his interest in playing Ranji Trophy for Bengal". This mean one important fact that he will still be playing to improve the grass root level dynamics to adapt to the changes of rules of the international level, most important this will stand a testimony to the visionary idea that BCCI has about the Indian Cricket.

From a personal perspective for Ganguly he does not have to put on with the tantrums of being selected and left out of the team since he can now concentrate to the original GANGULIAN cricketing principles which means oppositions aggression taken head-on which stands as a Mantra to todays Indian teams core philosophy which is glorified by the young guns who are on a larger learning curve on sustainability and consistency to the modern principles of the game.

However, I would wish to state that your article stands more as an extract and would like you to add some more of your thoughts to improve on the expression part of the content. But that said if this was just a starter for all then it was a good deal to start off with...and hope to hear more of it from you.

Cheers to all,
Murali

I think Ganguly deserves a special spot in INDIAN cricket history,,,,

Comment 50: By Sanjay Makroo on 20th Nov 2008
Well I totally disagree with his decision. I dont understand why these cricketers wants to run in one direction in whole life, they should think different in other things other than cricket once they are retired.

I think he should start his own company where cricket is totally not involved & gets his wife involved.

Sorry you may not agree with me but I think so.....
