According to Ayurveda, people with a kaphagenic diet tend to have high cholesterol. To lower cholesterol levels and prevent increase in cholesterol levels, following are beneficial:-

Low Cholesterol Food
Watch what you eat. Stick to the kapha-pacifying diet and avoid food high in fat like fatty foods. Do not take cheese, yogurt or high-fat milk. Reduce consumption of sweets, cold foods like ice cream and desserts, and drinks.

Do include onion and garlic in your cooking and food. Also take foods that are natural cholesterol busters. These are:

- blue corn
- oatmeal
- quinoa
- millet
- apples
- grapefruit
- almonds

Garlic
Mix ½ teaspoon grated ginger root, 1 clove of finely chopped fresh garlic to ½ teaspoon of lime. Eat this before each meal.

Triphala guggula
Take a 200 mg. tablet of triphala guggula 3 times a day

Breathing Exercise
Breath of Fire, also known as bhastrika, is helpful in reducing cholesterol

Herbs are effective against cholesterol. Include them in your diet or drinks to help bring balance to cholesterol levels.

  • Guggul, also known as Guggulipid, is a standardized extract from the Commiphora mukul tree, which is native to India. Research has shown that by increasing the breakdown of LDL cholesterol in the liver, it can lower LDL cholesterol levels by 25-35%. Guggulipid can also lower total cholesterol by 14-27%, triglycerides by 22-30%, and increase HDL cholesterol by approximately 20%.

  • Intake of half teaspoon of Psyllum husk(Ishabgul) herb with milk at bedtime helps in control the level of cholesterol.

  • Take the diet in excess quantity of fibres are present which will give relief from hogh blood cholesterol.

  • Yogasanas like ardhamatsyaendrasana, shalabhansan, padmasana and vajrasana will give relief after few days.

  • Take 2-5gm of sunflower seeds with water also reduce the level of high blood cholesterol.
Ginger reduces the level of cholesterol.

  • Terminalia arjuna (Arjun) The bark of arjun tree is useful as an anti-ischemic and cardioprotective agent in hypertension and ischemic heart diseases. It reduces the level of triglycerides and cholesterol and has been reported to enhance the synthesis of LDL-apoprotein (apoB); inhibits the oxidation of LDL and accelerates the turnover of LDL-cholesterol in liver. This enhances the elimination of cholesterol from the body.

Arjun is usually available as a single herb or in combination with other herbs like Guggul and Amla for better effect.

1:Ayurvedic Medicine is valuable to people of all ages because of the holistic nature and philosophy of treating the root cause of symptoms. It is sensible to perform some research and choose a therapist who is either a member of, or accredited by, an association or professional body. Ayurvedic practitioners are constrained to a code of ethics and process that finds out the therapy is carried out in a appropriate and safe environment.

your Advice with herb's eCt is good ,to add up one should walk daily which also helps to reduce Fats from the body.
