Link Quality V/S Link Quantity
Saturday 03rd, January 2009

Link building is and art. It takes special skill to succeedin it. Its a tough job if you don't know how to do it, but you can enjoy it ifyou are good at it. Link building is probably the most important part of searchengine ranking process so you can not afford to ignore it at all.

It can be a dream of any website owner to be blessed withdozens of high quality links that sends quality traffic and help boostingsearch engine rankings. And all these will happen just by shooting a friendlyemail to these website owners, and it will be a done deal. Link building wouldbe a fun if all these things are possible in today’s competitive market.

But the reality is harsh. No one links to anyone unlessthey’re getting something in return. The use of link building as an organicsearch engine marketing strategy is not an easy task. Your highly relevant andcarefully selected link partnership email request will throw into junk box andwill get deleted unnoticed. Your time and effort will go in vain and it willhelp you very little in link building process.

So the best thing to do is to choose quality over quantity.Select very few links having similar content to yours and preferably in yourarea. Establish contact with them every way possible. Maintain goodrelationship with them. And then ask them politely to link to you. Also keepimproving content of your website to make it interesting for your potentiallink partners.

Link building takes a lot of effort, so work smarterand not harder by choosing quality over quantity.
