Knowledge Management

We are in a growing economy in India. However, we are not utilizing full intellectual potential in India yet. For example, we are mostly growting by providing programming services. There are growing cases of providing R&D services, however, still most of the IT revenue comes from routine activities for cost purpose. I believe we can do more to provide our more intellectual contribution to the global economy resulting in even higher economic growth.

In Internet age, every individual can become a busienss, and an innovator. Are we really realizing our intellectual potential to fullest, most likely not. There may be some technological limitations such as effective access to Internet.

I would like to hear about how we are utilizing Internet in knowledge economy for bringing out our best, and monetizing it in the global economy. I would love to hear from people, and have a dialogue.

Best,

Praveen

It is great that MC3 framework, as mentioned by Sanjit, is being deployed by some companies for change management. However, as Preeti says, we need more innovators/entrepreneurs where change is the way of life, and it occurs to create companies like Microsoft, Google, or Oracle. India is considered a software superpower. But we look like a superpower with conventional army, not necessarily with smart weapons. Anshuman says about self-reliance in what we would need. I believe we, India, should create national priorities to focus to channel intellectual energy in creating solutions for Indians and people worldover.

China has been very methodical in exploiting the opportunity. First it maximized the outsourced manufacturing opportunity, and it amassed hundreds of billions of dollars vs. billions by India. It rapidly developed its infrastructure, and focused on becoming a powerhouse.

Pres. Kalam gave India a vision. However, i do not see key national priorities and tactices that we in India are working on. I do see speling out India's mission to Moon. That is the vision of 60's. I am wondering if any of you know national priorities. Love to hear about them.

I agree with the author completely. People have been going ga-ga about the Indian economy growing and how excellent is the purchasing power of Indians. But what we fail to understand is that most of it, be it IT or any other sector, is in the form of services. Now when it comes to services, we are directly dependent to our customers and their country. The day their economies go into recession, we will invariably suffer. India must concentrate on its own self reliance and industry based economy rather that services based economy!!! As for the IT sector, true, it will be great to see a Indian company like Google or MS come up in future!!!

It is actually very unfortunate that despite of Indian IT industry establishing as a global power with entrepreneurs like Vinod Khosla, Sabeer Bhatia and mnay others. The most of the work getting done here is body shopping or technical support. There has been done very little even by tier-I IT firms such as Wipro, Infosys, TCS etc on research end to establish themselves as a world class product company like Microsoft, Oracle etc. I hope some day this scenario will change by taking lessons from Nihilent.

Hi Praveen,

Your observations are quite realistic. I agree most of the Indian IT firms and MNC’s opted India as cheap labour destination. There are few research that states clearly most of the innovations and product development are done out of India whereas Indian do have equal potential of innovations.

Our CEO, Mr. L C Singh realized it long time back. He started Nihilent with a vision to provide change management, innovation management and knowledge management services in India as well as all across the world. Mr. Singh also innovated a change management framework known as MC3. Please have a look to MC3 website; URL for the same is www.MC3consulting.com. You can also have a look to our corporate website www.nihilent.com for more details.

Just to inform in the span of 8 yrs we helped more than 100 organizations worldwide in their strategy executions and transformation.

I am keen to discuss about this topic in detail. Please share your contact details.

Thanks & regards,

Sanjit Kumar
