I always remember one of my physics professor during my BSc days. Prof Mukherjee, the learning experience with him I always cherish and wish we had many like him. His method of teaching was not just lecturing, he used to select few students in the calss, ask them to come prepared on a topic, then he used ask questions. Those who were regular and were able to answer indicating their preparations he used to continue with them. I very fadely remember the way he was once questioning... what if there are thousands of ants around a football, where will it move, the answer came from one of us .. nowhere sir; he was excited as this was leading to proving the gas equation PV=RT, and you should be presnt on such occassions where you find that you have proven such theory yourselve. It generated lot of interest in physics. Of-course after completing my BSc I did my Engineering in Electronics & Communication.

We need to encourage learning by question-answer, at any point whether it is educational institution or work place; such methods definitely makes a person more strong in the subject; of-course it is quite tough for both the teacher/mentor as well the student/learner but is helpful

In fact like anything, good teaching is a talent. If anyone thinks a little, one will understand - cooking, haircutting, what not all can be done well to the state-of-the-art level. If the barber is good, he will understand the customer intusively, with very few words; if not even after several instructions, he will make one's head a caricature! Is the making a tea not an art? The quality of tea the amount of milk, sugar, spices, the pot the water, the cup, the person who serves, the place where it is served - so many factors come into play. So, I think, things are not that simple as we may assume for granted.

i guess u r right in a way but it also depends on the students,i mean the younger generation should also have the zeal to learn things.nowdays i have seen that the culture in colleges had changd a lot.only some of the students show the interest in listening to the teacher .so somehow it discourages the teacher to implement new ways of learning.

Some teachers teach in the most complicated way and the thing miserable but others would teach the same stuff in such a way that it easily gets into our head. its all depends upon the ability of the teacher in understanding the mentality of their students.
