One similie I can draw here. If you are someone who observes people and places and are aware of how things change in India, you would have noticed how a small walking lane or a 'pagdandi' gets transformed into a concrete road in a few years time.

Imagine - a lane that used to serve as a walkway, or for that one odd cycle 10 years ago today has 'organically' grown, by so called encroachment of the area along the width of the road, to change it into a lane to carry a truck and a bullock cart - with no thought given to the future of the transportation.

All this shows is, people twist any situation to their collective convenience with no thought about quality of convenience.

I have seen this happen in Bombay, Berhampur, Indore, few of the cities that I have visited regularly. There is so much more to write about this attitude that one can't just stop admiring...

You see that in India, it is all about conveniences. Bombay is the most convenient city of the country - you have grocery stores right under your apartment complex 'cos that's what people created a need for - convenience in shopping.

Thus the neighborhood kirana stores grew, first in Bombay, to the extent that they did, and then in other parts of the country. People in India are also psychologically very lazy and hence the aspect of Jugaad that Indians are famous for. Jugaad means to manage at the last minute, something like JIT Management from Japan but without the quality aspect of it.

Nevertheless, all these aspects apart, today India needs one huge huge reform - the educational system and that too at the behavioral level.

Indians, to keep their true identity need to be in a way - potty trained.

Think about it - don't you feel this way when you see stupidity strewn around you with the kind of attitudes people throw in general?
