Compared to the times way back in the 90s we are much stressed in more ways.
- We are under pressure at work to perform well, so that we can be ahead in the race to accumulating more wealth;
- We are under pressure at home to perform even better so that we have a peaceful family life and that we meet everyone's expectations and our own standards and value systems of being responsible people
- We are under pressure in relationships to perform even more 'cos at the end of the day, life is all about enjoying relationships and maintaining them with the least strain and maximum comfort - which usually does not turn out to be the case so.
- We are under pressure from our peers and from citizens of similar social strata to outperform them so that our survival is taken care of
- We are under pressure from competition of all kinds
- We are under pressure from Nature for it is getting depleted of all its resources and we are getting impure items from it for consumption.
- We are under pressure in general due to lack of ethical behavior on part of the population in general
- We are now also under pressure from terrorism - which can strike anytime anywhere anyhow. So now the pressure is on our very existance too - be it a metro city or a small village, we are under constant threat on our lives.
So where do we go from here? Is India ready in any way to help it's citizens live a better life than before? The administration itself is under constant threat since the time the policies have become so open... so can they provide threat-buffer or threat protection to it's citizens not only from all these factors but also from it's own corrupt agencies and ministers?
How do all of you individually deal with these pressure situations? Can you share your ideas for all of us to know and learn and grow with?
Can we all leave our pettiness behind and start trusting people - at least at the level of being the evolved cyber-citizens that we all are now?
Will the pressure cooker situation remain so for ever? or will there be a blast within each one of us that is going to bring in a flood that will change everything with a destructive force?
Will the hypocratic beings in us wake up, shun that hypocrasy and look at reality without coloring our vision?
Would you like to share your views and opinions on this pressure situation and ways and means to tackle it?
Note: The other day I was reading a reader's comment on some rediff.com's article. The individual said that India needs a dictator
- but my counter point was, India needs a dictator - very true, but a selfless dictator who is there for the country and it's oppressed masses and who is out there to correct the system... and not a dictator who is there for his self interest and for the interest of a select few.
