Rahul is totally clue less as to how to rebuild and rejuvinate the battered and bruised national party. His democratisation exercises are time consuming affairs although noble in intent. The immediate task willbe to bring in  a new face to the party. For that to happen he has to do unthinkable. He should claim the legacy of Sri P V Narasimha Rao, who singlehandedly re wrote the party ideology from old Socialist ideals to market based economy by unshakling the controlled indian economy. Whatever claim that BJP seeks to lay on development theme, it was authored by Rao. May be Rao was not that obedient to the Nehru family bahu as he was to her mother in law, which is perceived to be the reason for the hesitation to claim his legacy. But Rao did a wonderful job as PM of a minority government. Pokhran II was  his idea which was hijacked by AB Vajpayee years later. He streered the economy out of shambles and brought out the inherent resilience of our economy by bold policy decisions. 

Rahul should build a young team"( which he has already in place) which will take upon the task of selling the development plan to the masses, the connect to the masses is more important where Rao failed miserably. Indian voter has matured enough to understand empty rhetorics. Slogans alone will not be sufficient to get votes. that is a bygone era you will be constantly judged for your performance . Rahul should lead from the front. face Parliament more often. participate in debates and own up mistakes. LARR and Lokpal are his ideas hijacked by someone else. Social media is one of the channels, See the fate of AAP largely built around social media. Combine modernity with old social values and that is the winning formula. InModi Rahul has a tough challenger, acknowledge that and work towards earning peoples'mandate. concentrate on issues of people more thanon niceties.
