Faces of fear -  2008 October

Minus minus everywhere;

Blinking traders  stunned

Stand before flashing boards

At the famous Nippon bourse.

10 percent slide In Djakarta;

Calls for two days market close

To cool, but it was not to be;

Snivel and sough for traders there.

Have a look at London scene;

Lowered interest by Central banks;

Yet,  market  tumbled

Like old Newton’s apple red.

Central banks of nations great

US, Europe and England too

With all their might

Could not put markets right again.

The german flag  flutters half mast;

10.8.2008 Frankfurt exchange;

A sign on stone with a mark of cross;

Wail - No future in business mine.

The once sexy Sensex down

In our bungling Bharat too;

We look askance at east and west

With PM and FM talking sweet.

Dow Jones down 500 points

Despite best of US efforts;

Praying is best, says investors

Leaving stocks for visible gold.

A cornered indian techie

Could not stand the heat of it all;

Kiled wife, sons and mother in law

And suicide outlet was what he sought.
