PAKISTAN CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE BEFORE INDIA--WHY?

Freelance Journalist
Strange...isn't it? Pakistan celebrates her independence day on August 14 and India celebrates her independence day on the following day--that is--August 15. This is undoubtedly one of the greatest quirks of history!

How did this come about? Pakistan was part of India until the British rule came to an end. So, for all logical reasons, it was India who gave birth to Pakistan. So, how could the independence of Pakistan which had no identity until then precede the independence of India which was being ruled by the Britishers?

Did this ever cross your mind? Has it ever occured to you as to why our leaders and even us, the people of India, did not protest against this? Why are we in the habit of accepting what is handed to us even if we are being shortchanged?

On this independence day, I exhort all patriotic Indians to give this a thought and air their thoughts so that things of this nature are not repeated in Indian history and we do not find our leaders napping when such glaring mistakes are committed under their very own noses.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL MY FELLOW INDIANS!
