Advantages of Blowers

To produce large volumes of air at lower pressures as compared to compressed air blowers are used. A large number of industrial applications can use either compressed air or air generated by blowers although there are some applications where compressed air is necessary (air cylinders, pneumatic tools).

Blowers have several advantages over compressed air for applications where either compressed air or blowers will work.

Blowers are very efficient. Operating cost of a blower is a fraction of the cost of using compressed air for a given volume of air. Blowers also provide clean air there is no danger of oil droplets or residue in the blower air stream since blowers do not use oil as a lubricant. The exhaust is also free of condensate because air pressures are less than compressed air and this is the reason thus not as prone to cooling due to air expansion. Normally found on compressed air systems, this eliminates the need for standard oil and water filters.

The deployment of blowers is done independently. Due to distance from compressor there is no need for high pressure piping, drop lines, or concerns about pressure drops. Shutting down one will not affect the operation of others since blowers are independent of each other.

At producing large volumes of air needed for many industrial drying, cleaning, ventilation and vacuum applications, blowers excel. Whether regenerative or centrifugal when searching for a blower, look for these characteristics-

# it should be easy to maintain and service.

Greater pressure is generated by centrifugal blowers and volume than regenerative blowers. When designing a blower system, following factors need to be considered such as the distance from the air knife or nozzle to the target, target composition and speed of movement and the distance between the blower and the air knives.

With minimal vibration in a limited space, the blowers generate a substantial volume of air, such as the ones used in air conditioning, heating, ventilation and vacuum cleaners; a centrifugal blower is a common device. Through its center, a centrifugal blower intake air and directs it through a perpendicular opening in the housing. Thus blowers are necessary in various industrial places.
