Reading For Soul
Thursday 09th, October 2008
There are few pleasures in life more so indulgent as curling up in bed, mid-afternoon, with a gripping book. This indulgence is possible on a Sunday only but nonetheless I regularly succumb to the temptation to give into my fatigue and head for the heaven that is my bedroom avec favorite author.  Many of us, read to promote sleep. There is nothing more delicious than snuggling into the deep depths of bed and reading until those eyes become heavy and the words hazy. Before long you drown into a heavy slumber, your mind blissfully distracted from your own woes yet delightedly thick in the imagery from that fantastical world of your book. Unconsciously the weight of the novel slips through your fingers having transported you so delectably from those anxious realities into a peaceful realm of dreams.  There are absolutely no limits to the place where books can take you (and the best part is you are not paying for the traveling you do through books). Start with things you\'re interested in, and then broaden your perspectives. Reading as a hobby can change your life, so crack one open and step into a new adventure, new world where you can roam with the characters of the book and still back on work next day well on time.
