A real leader aspiring to become the prime minister!

India won freedom from the shackles of British rule when selfless politicians with a spirit of humility and love for nation opposed the autocratic British Rule.  Today, some selfish and disgruntled politicians who are power hungry compare themselves to the selfless and humble freedom fighters. If they open their mouths, they pour venom on their opponents or on those who are elected by the people to rule this nation.  Their only weapon is hatred.  They use rhetoric to attract the audience. The media also make these orators “great and patriotic leaders”.

They have no vision for the nation.  Their only aim is to come to power which they have lost 10 years ago.  They divide the nation on communal lines.  How can they compare themselves to the freedom fighters?

No politician should aspire to become the prime minister of this nation by talking ill of the present prime minister. In the American elections, we find that the candidates aspiring to become the President do debate the shortcomings of the present President but do not use sarcastic or vituperative language against their current President.

Narendra Modi on the occasion of the Independence Day set a bad precedent by attacking the Prime Minister of the nation with an eye on the ensuing 2014 elections. When the tri-color national flag is hoisted on the occasion of the Independence Day, we remember the great sacrifices made by our forefathers and freedom fighters. This is not an occasion for attacking the Prime Minister of the nation. Modi could have shown the least respect to the Prime Minister of the nation.

A real leader aspiring to become the Prime Minister has to learn humility and righteousness. He should be acceptable to all sections of people including minorities.
