How to become a leader

How to become a leader

1. A true leader can set a goal.

A clear cut, easy to see goal that everybody on their team understands is the object of all
the work that is being done.

2. Effective leaders communicate well.

They interact with team members in effective ways. They dont use big words or complex
concepts to impress underlings.

3. Leaders set achievable goals.

They know how to  break a big job down into small manageable steps.  Each step, when
completed, is cause for celebration.

4. Leaders have good selection skills.

They have a knack for assigning the right person to do each task. They know that drawing on the
best things about each member insures success.

5. Good leaders are efficient.

They can schedule work so that time is used in the best possible way and they never set
impossible deadlines.

6. They have vision.

They can see beyond today and convey that vision to their team.

7. They can inspire people.

By example, and by motivating them effectively, leaders get team members to give a task their
best shot. People actually want to please them.

8. They show appreciation.

Not flattery, but real appreciation for a job well done every time. They are generous with
praise but are never give false praise.

9. Leaders reward performance.

They generously reward the completion of a job. They will always throw a completion party and,
if it within their power, they give monetary rewards.

10. Leaders are ahead of the pack.

They are always at least one step in front of the team but are never afraid to ask for help if
they need it.

The Leader should have these features. But i found that most of the leaders assign the lots of work at a time to his team members. And himself he is wasting the time in chatting, mail checking. The leaders need to know their responsibility first then only the team member can learn.
