The elections are behind us, the popular Hand has religiously caused the Lotus to wilt – leaves are feeling the heat (despite floating on water)and may actually fall-off , or perhaps the stem itself may break! The Monalisa is back on the Italian wall, the dimpled youth engineer is back to high speed go-karting and low-level searching in the dark mysterious villages of India (with white kurtha’s for company), perhaps looking for a beautiful white Dalit Princess ( to fill ‘em cheeks)! The search is becoming difficult with lifelike statutes (with diamond studs & colorful handbags) springing up every where – look no further, eh? The third of the Family, is back to teaching her kids to speed-read and prepare for greater things to come. The Dynasty is back to stoking the home-fires, a job well done! See you at the next elections –my dear poor Indian fellow! You have the clean white Turbanator you asked for!

Meanwhile, life In India goes on, with the dead Nehru, Indira and Rajiv being brought back, alive and kicking as stone, steel & asphalt, to Airports, Stadia, Colonies, Sea-Links, Roads and Streets(you name it!) You never need to remember– as if nothing else existed? Ghosts are roaming the Capital swallowing precious money, water & electricity – it’s for the 'Real Distributors' to figure out supply-demand and generate, argues a wizened winning gusty old-timer who has forgot to plan-who forgot to look into the mirror and discover that Ghosts do not exit!

A cunning, time tested, pipe wielding, diminutive Fox of a Finance Minister presents a Budget that appears clever, as if waiting for the likes of nuclear energy to grow from the present 2% to 3%, come out in a distant future to save the Country and provide it security? A hard working salaried guy like me pays 30% plus taxes on income yet gets bushwhacked (and punished for receiving a piece of paper which honestly reveals my pay insides) into paying tolls on roads, bridges, gutters, Airports, Italian Pizzas and fuel. Should not I deserve Hemamalini smooth surfaces and pathways as a right, for filling the government coffers? I do not mind paying taxes to the Govt. provided I get super efficient service in return –like the developed countries! Plus, should not all pay taxes rather than a chosen few?

I am just back to Gurgaon from my native Village in interior Tamil Nadu – after a rusticating "stay vacation". The old have grown older and cannot find the legs & hands to meet the simple challenges of every-day farming. Development means having a cell phone! The pole-held telephone landlines go dead with every gusty wind –“ Go buy WLL phones, we cannot keep repairing these silly telephone lines, that too going out in the sun” – argues the Government Servant. The WLL phones are usually second-hand hand-outs with batteries that can with stand the power of the wind but not the long power cuts! Back to where we started?

The Delhi air is filled with Gays & Lesbians and their queer feelings. Who & what prevents a man being a friend with another man or a woman with another woman? In what way will same-sex marriages or legalizing help? What is the purpose? Is it all right for men & women to marry monkeys, cats, dogs, donkeys, cows & pigs just because an evolving human race has developed strong feelings for these creatures and they ought to be respected? What about the more natural human instinct of prostitution - world’s oldest & most prolific business! - Forget it! That can do without a license and moreover it has long moved to the tacit level? Cheers!
