Actually these were western way of dressing where cold climates prevail throughout the year and where it is necessary to keep yourself warm. But i find it ridiculous to wear silk full sleeve shirts and overcoats in hot and humid springs of coastal India. A tie is actually aimed at keeping your neck warm and comfortable since it is one of the easily affected parts.

Why not wear cotton tshirts and stay cool in hot and sunny India?

Imagine attending an interview with a cologne tshirt or a Quarterly presentation with a plain half sleeve shirt! I reckon it would be totally unpalatable for a few but things are fast changing in India with the IT companies gaining pole positions( IT companies allow tshirts and half sleeve shirts) . Im looking forward to the day when people start using their reasoning skills and bid farewell to these extravagant outfits.
