Creativity
is about looking beyond the most obvious or
easiest solution
to a problem. Creative people push their ideas
beyond the
first reaction and try to see the problem in a
fresh way,
from another angle. Sometimes, even for the very
creative,
this is hard to do. Especially if you've been
working on the
problem for a while and you can't see past the
problem.
Each of you have at least one unresolved,
unfinished and problematic
problem or idea. This is the piece that you've
worked on,
struggled with, you don't like, and can't finish
for some
reason (other than lack of time). This is the
piece your going
to work on in the final project.
Study
this work. Identify and write down why this piece
isn't working.
Is it color, composition, form, texture, shape?
Are you bored
with it? Did you think when you started it was a
brilliant
idea, but somehow you've lost interest? Define the
specific
problem that you have with the piece and put it
into words
that you can share.
Bring an open mind, a willingness to experiment, a
spirit
of cooperation, a desire to resolve your own work,
and a desire
to allow others to help resolve their ideas,
problems or needs.
Many of us alreadywe're going to help each other
figure out
solutions for your work and how to get
there.
The atmosphere you want to create for your project
is collaborative
and fun but also centered on productivity. No
sitting around
- think and work hard.
Go for it and continue to strive for your goal and
your achievement
in what you seek. Look beyond the obvious. Finish
your goal
and you will be better prepared to target the
ideals or problems
you choose to find.
What's obvious? They may be perceptual thoughts
which may or may not be real....& What's beyond
the obvious? That's where you know the
realities...
May it be about a person/ anything... just an
example to share with..
My office premises doesn't have any smoking area..
so we need to go out out the premises and smoke
there...
I was smoking the other day.. a person just walked
to me and was asking me whether I can give him one
cigarette ..
I'd given him a cigarette and the lighter.. he
said thank you and was smoking just beside me.. as
part of the conversation he asked me what I
do..
I started explaining him my roles &
responsibilities and was thinking that he might be
a mid level employee at my office (as the way he
dresses, the way he was seeking cigerette from
me..
few other factors made me think that ways :-)...
and I asked him what he does... and he started
saying his roles & responsibilities.... I was
listening to him casually with no attention and
after a while I realized that he would be the
Director at my office...
and just to confirm the same I asked him what's
his designation.. he said he is a Director.... and
the most surprising part is he is the director of
my department :P :P :P
I was stunned and didn't show that on my face... .
Said good day and we departed...
I got a wrong impression on him at the beginning
because in my office, high level employees wear
only business professionals but he was like very
much casual..
That's the story... may be it's boring but for me
it makes sense :) made me feel that how good I'm
at underestimating others :)
Cheers
