Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na review
Wednesday 23rd, July 2008
Finally I got to watch jaane Tu ya Jaane na last night. I had a lot of expectations, especially because of the Kabhi Kabhi Aditi song and also because of Aamir Khan productions.

I was pretty disappointed with the movie. I knew fully well that the storyline has been beaten to death in so many movies but I was expecting a more funny romantic comedy. But the movie fell short of my expectations.

Genelia has acted much better in her Telugu movies like Bommarilu or Dhee, but here she had probably 2-3 expressions in the entire movie. Also her voice is pretty bad. I think she should go for dubbing like she does in Telugu. On the whole I was disappointed with her performance.

Imran was OK. I did not find anything extraordinary in him like his uncle who is one of my all time favourites.

The best scenes in the movie were between Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak. Naseer was brilliant and Ratna Pathak complemented him well.

Another thing I was upset about was that the friends characters were not developed well enough.

Overall I think it is a mediocre movie which was very well publicised by Aamir Khan.

I believe that Aamir is the best when it comes to movie publicity. He does not spend as much on publicity material as a Yashraj Films or a Karan Johar film or a Subhas Ghai film. He makes use of the media exteremely well when his movie needs publicity. He will give interviews to any and every channel, introduce the cast and crew, take part in talk shows. Also he will come up with a "Making of the movie" special which really gets the audience hooked to the movie. With all this he creates such a big hype that people can't help but watch the movie. All this for practically no cost. Absolutely brilliant marketing.

Well next on my list is Aamir. I know I know, I am going backwards, but I have such a big backlog of movies to clear.

Well...Dear

I don't think the movies was that bad. I do accept the storyline was same old love story but the movies has the new freshness. The freshness of new cast and group. It was a simple love story, but the way it was presented was worth to watch it once atleast. The movie has slight mixture of humour and drama. The movie reminds me of my old collage days...it was fun with lots of drama, fight and difinetly friendship.
