This is how article submission works - by writing and submitting content to these directories either by manual or automatic Directory Submission and it creates backlink to your website. Each article directory has what may be called a “resource box” that will be at the end of an article, which has details about your site and a link to it. In addition, when your article is acquired by newsletters and e-zines (electronic internet-based magazine article databases) that provide information on the same subject of your article, it also includes a resource box and backlinks to your website.

This results in increased traffic to your website and may even come from sources that you would have never found on your own otherwise. Even better, if readers enjoy your articles it is possible that they will place the link to their sites also. So the more backlinks you obtain to your site, the better your rankings will be in the search engine results.

So which is it: automatic or manual article submission?

Manual submission involves the finding of the right article directories and creating an account with that particular directory. This then will need placing your articles in the correct category. It might also involve making changes to your article, to meet the requirements of the directory. Each article directory has various forms for submitting articles so the input fields will be different from one directory to another directory.

The majority of people would say that it is better to manually submit rather than to do automatic directory submission. Why? The first reason is that many directories will treat the articles submitted like spam. Secondly, you can immediately see any mistakes and make corrections or improvements; however automatic submission robots cannot do that. Lastly, it is easy to make changes to your articles if you find that it needs a little adjusting. Since you have to have an account with the directory, you can easily login and make the necessary changes.

By making a submission manually, you can ensure that your content is placed in the correct category. Plus, you are allowed to read the terms and conditions of the directories to see if your articles meet the guidelines. If you choose automatic directory submission, this is close to impossible. But if you prefer, you can opt to make your submissions automatic or you can attain the services of a SEO company to do it for you.

So really the choice is up to you. You can either manually submit your articles or you can choose to use automatic directory submission to complete the task. It depends on how much time you wish to spend on making sure that your website gets all the exposure that it needs.
