Chinese Democracy; Guns N' Roses; Downloaded
Wednesday 25th, June 2008
Just downloaded Chinese Democracy, the new Guns 'N Roses album from http://www.megaupload.com /?d=G3DPI239.

My review and what I feel about individual songs, I have given the song name and my impression about each.

A lot more of synths used in the background, I just heard the songs a couple of times and the songs dont keep coming back, maybe they will later. Frankly the songs sound like Jam sessions and there is rather too much of singing and synths than lead. .

"Better": Frenzied lead, comes in stacatto riffs then starts flowing.

"Catcher in the Rye": Slow start something like 'Yesterady'. Axl goes into high high pitch almost a falsetto not much of lead but only synths to keep the tune.

"Crash Diet": Hey, a very little bit of Flameco here for a couple of seconds in the begining, Songs starts with Axil whining in the background as the lead builds up the tempo. Leads sounds rather disjointed and does not flow with the songs, sounds like the lead was patched in from recording sessions later on.

"IRS": Some solid power chords here. Some good, fast paced riffs here near the end.

"Madgascar": Played live (can hear some Spanish translator at the begining when Axl introduces). The sound sounds like some Chamber music with organs.

"Oh My God": Fast paced, sounds like death metal but without the guttural singing. Some good lead of about 10 seconds midway in the song.

"Blues": Another live songs. slow one at the begining then the power chords bang in. Some amount of lead but enduring solos.

"TWAT": Synth sounds at the begining, good lead somewhere in the begining and end. Some sizzling lead near the end, but rather supporting the chorus.

If you are expecting something like 'Use your illussion' then forget it. If you want to brag that you have the songs, then download the stuff

Bye,

Shashi Kadapa
