By 2009, India had a total of 81,000,000 registered Internet users—comprising 7% of the country's population, and 7,570,000 people in India also had access to broadband Internet as of 2010— making it the 11th largest country in the world in terms of broadband Internet users. With such figures, and an ever increasing population rate, it is imperative that quality media education is delivered by institutions.
