Mba - Opened Doors To Success.
It was summer of 2001 and I had to make one of the biggest decisions of my life. I had got through an admission for MBA from ICFAI Bangalore. I had to make up my mind, whether it’s worth spending Rs.2.00Lacs (Sounds miniscule in today’s terms), considering I had to repay the loan and re-locate to thousands’ miles away from family. But then against all odds I decided to join an MBA bandwagon, which had become the numero uno choice for majority of graduates in India by then.
I landed up in Bangalore on May 31st 2001 and my two year long journey for MBA started very next day. There was lot of excitement, anxiety, apprehensions before I entered college. But all of it settled soon and first week went like a breezer, we had fun, bit of ragging and ice-breaking sessions to induce familiarity.
As the second week started my perception about doing an MBA changed. I remember we were pushed to the limits. We had to attend n number of classes, do assignment, analyze case studies, prepare presentations, quizzes, and internals….phew phew!
But over a course of two years I transformed into a better individual in terms of adaptability to corporate work environment. Though MBA didn’t taught me about the work assignments I took, but then it equipped me with the basic soft skills and other capabilities needed to succeed at work.
After working with multiple organizations, latest one being SiliconIndia, I have realized the roots of managerial traits had been laid 6 years back while doing my MBA from ICFAI Business School. Today I feel proud to testify that it was indeed not a bad decision to do MBA from ICFAI.
