Hi Guys, Welcome again,

In the previous post I basically targeted how to gather client information for the Search Engine Optimization project. Now in the post I am going to make you understand how to do keyword analysis, which is one of the important factors in getting successes to Search Engine Optimization projects.

Keyword Analysis is nothing but getting those keywords/phrases by which a search is done by potential prospects to find our products or services. Choosing wrong keywords may drown your site in the internet hub, so always better to go through an in-depth keyword analysis.

There are three ways to find the keywords related to a business. Suppose a keyword phrase “Leather Bags” it doesn’t mean that every company using the phrase Leather Bags only sells Leather Bags, it might be used as informative subject regarding leather bags. It could provide information about leather and its quality and more…..

The First way is that you can choose a keyword that gets lot of hits per month and also have lot of competition for example “web development” and the second type is that you can choose a long tail keyword that don’t has lot of competition for example “how to hit hard in web development to get online prospects” with this type of keyword phrases you will get a top tank but not traffic will come to your site.

If you go with the high competitive keywords your site would not even come in top 100 positions and no potential customers find it on search engines intimately you will not get hits your sales would be very less. If you go with the long tail keyword phrases as mention above you might feel happy getting it on top in Google and other search engines but the sales your get through it might be $0.75 in a decade. Go for those keywords that must have less competition and high search volume. These types of keywords will bring potential customers to you.

Before analyzing the keyword phrases get the conformation form the client what is his business Geographical area and his products and services. Does he want to get business from local area, nation wide or world wide? After getting conformation it would be easy to get the perfect keywords for his business. Suppose a client deals in “Dog Food” and he wants to do business world wide the follow the below information.

  1. “Put you leg in customers shore who are searching for your products online” that means think how could a customer find you online.
  2. Use words like “cheap, affordable, local area name, and other words that customers love to add in the keywords.
  3. Ask the client if he has any keyword in his mind, do online search for it.
  4. Have a keen look in competitor’s website what keyword phrases they are using.
  5. Make 100s of keywords list in Excel document.

Now the time to come to check the listed keywords in keyword tools to find out which keywords has less competition and high search volume. If you gather keywords in Excel document now its time to find it in the great two tools that you can find online,

    • One is Google Adwords Keyword Tool, find the link below.

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal?defaultView=2

    • The other is free keywords wordtracker, find the link below.
