A stolid case in black, pink, purple or white, it won’t win any aesthetics awards, but it is simple to use. Just squeeze the phone into the front piece of the case (it requires some force), then snap on the back. Make sure to run your thumbs all around the seal. The company says the cases is waterproof, dust- and dirtproof, snow- and shockproof. But because LifeProof only warrants the case — not the phone inside — I didn’t have the guts to test it by leaving the thing underwater for an hour as the reviewer’s manual suggests.
