Ever wondered who contributes the most to data loss? Surprisingly, humans beings! Various researches and observations indicate human errors form the largest contributors to data loss. And while these errors are just accidents, their result is significant.

Human beings are prone to making mistakes, and unintentional deletion of data is one of the most prevalent human mistake that leads to data loss. But, data loss does not become a headache, as long as you have a backup file to restore data. However, if the backup is not available, or if it fails to restore data, then the situation becomes bad. Still, there is no need to worry, as data loss of any kind can be easily dealt using a powerful disk recovery Software.

Few of the most common and silly mistakes committed by humans that lead to data loss are:

  • Accidental or Improper shutting down of the system.

  • Un-installing a healthy disk while trying to replace a failed disk.

  • Reformatting the wrong drive.

  • Unintentional deletion of an important document, database, etc.

After data loss due to human errors, you might come across any of the following consequences:

  • Inaccessible files and folders.

  • Hard drive unmountable.

  • Loss of a particular file from the hard drive.

  • Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD).

  • Decreased system performance.

1:I recently attended a conference where the keynote speaker related this anecdote. Back in the days of 5 ¼″ floppies, a system engineer was dismayed to learn that his entire series of backup disks was unreadable. In troubleshooting the system, he duplicated his process, checking each step along the way. After creating a set of backup disks, he asked a secretary to label and store the duplicate set. He watched in amazement as she affixed a label to a disk, cranked the floppy disk into the carriage of her typewriter, and typed on the disks! Do not assume that each step in a backup process will work until it has been tested.
