Self Destruction
Sunday 24th, August 2008
We are born with a special purpose, so was lord Krishna. He came on this earth with a special purpose, to end an era of evil and sorrow. What message mythology gives us is that he came on this earth with a purpose of ending all the sorrows and pains of his parents. What makes human being different from other animals is their love for family and friends. But this “Kalyug” has shown that human beings have become that part of animal kingdom, which does not bother for its family and friends (We hardly seem to bother about the felling of our stake holders i.e. family and friends).

A lot of time we talk about celebrating festivals, meeting our near ones but actual do we ever realize that, all these are a mere formality. We have got stuck in the circle of “Give and Take”, if somebody does something for us only then we bother to reciprocate the same. This Give/take ratio, acts something like a P/E ratio, which shows what we give to others and what we should get in return. We try to do relative valuation, and then we decide who is undervalued and who is overvalued.

I firmly believe that god has got a system of double entry book keeping with him, whatever is credited is also debited and vice- versa. You do something it comes back to you in some form or another. So, please be good to others, because it will come back, when you most require it.

But what we have been doing is moving on the path of “Self destruction”. What we do not realize is that, we are ourselves are not competent enough to realize, what we are helping grow around us are Weeds, which try to take out all the good things and in the end leave us with nothing.

Lord Krishna, once said to Arjun, we all are here with a purpose, to perform our karma. So, we should be thankful enough that we have been born in a generation were at least our parents have been able to give those basic teaching of what is right or what is wrong? In finance term, if I have to say then it would be something like our ratio of good deeds/ bad deeds should be as low as possible.

A lot of times we need do self valuation, may be using discounted karma model, and try to reach our intrinsic value. And thanks god for giving us an opportunity to be born as a human being.

One should, perform karma with nonchalance without expecting the benefits because sooner or later one shall definitely gets the fruits.
