VIGILANT MEDIA

Indian Media especially visual media has been in the forefront of exposures of corrupt deals and has done a great favor by their continuous screening 24 x 7 of corruption related issues. Yet they seem more interested in TRP ratings than on real issues. A silent attempt is going on in the judiciary to get acquittal or a favorable judgment for former CM of TN Ms Jayalalitha in theDA  case- believed to be watertight case. Recently Delhi High Court confirmed a lower court order of sentencing Chautala and his son for their corrupt deals. SC when granting bail to former TN CM ordered that her team should co operate with the HC hearing her appeal and not prolong the case as they did in the Special court. To their credit their battery of lawyers complied with these directions. SC also set a time limit for the HC to hear and deliver judgment- within 3 months This time the trial faced little hurdles and day to day hearings went on. HC declined permission for Anbalagan to be an interlocutor and also dismissed the prayers of original litigant Dr.Subramanian. SC had to intervene to reinstate the original complainant to submit written submissions not oral arguments. Anabalagan went to SC seeking to stay the trial stating that SPP has no locus standi in the case, which was decided by the HC against him. SC admitted the petition but refused a stay. It stated that the trial is in advanced stage. Now what happens if SC finds merit in Anbalagan's contention that Bhavani Singh can not argue the case as SPP since his job ended the moment trial court pronounced his verdict? He has cited the stinging observations of Special court judge against SPP. One of the learned Judge hs said that even if the former CM is acquitted Anbalagan can still agitate? Was it a proper comment and does it not bode ill for a fair trial? Why media is silent?  fear of contempt of court. Why Bhushans have not apologised yet then why fear? political interference?Your guess is as good as mine
