Features No Longer Exist in iTunes 11

software engineer
Apple has released iTunes 11 for a few days and we have been talking about the new features of iTunes 11 all the time. Yes, iTunes 11 rocks, but for some users, it may be a little uncomfortable to use it, not only because the added new features, but also some old functions have been killed off.

For most Apple fans who at lease own one Apple device, iTunes is a necessity. Even it has a few drawbacks like music to mp3 converter for mac is needed to listen to music which are now purchased in iTunes, we have to admit that iTunes is still powerful. Now iTunes 11 is available and Apple clears away a few features.

1. The other sidebar. After accessing iTunes 11, you’ll find out the sidebar is not there any more at once, but you still can show it via menu, so here we are not talking about that sidebar, but the feature that would give you genius recommendations based on any song you were currently on. Of course, Apple provides a replacement. A special genius recommendations menu will pop out right next to a song when you click on a context menu, which shows you songs you already have in your library.

2. Cover Flow. Even Cover Flow was the highlight in iTunes 7, but that didn’t mean it was special, because Apple removed it from iTunes 11. Cover Flow is a feature that lets users view the album covers in one flow. After noticing the disappearance of this feature, many users complained the issue at Apple’s discussions. No exaggeration, it has angered some of the iTunes users all over the world, and some are even working out ways to revert back to a previous version.

3. iTunes DJ. From the name of this feature, we can know that it’s an amazing party helper. There are many people use it for parties, mainly because it can let us put gether a never-ending playlist in a pinch. But now it’s gone. We can find a lot of solutions from Internet to get the functions of iTunes DJ back, but the performances have differences from iTunes DJ, of course.

4. Multiple windows. I can’t say it is good or bad, because for some people, the simpler interface is better, while other people love to view multiple windows at the same time. One of the biggest features of iTunes 11 is the the change of interface, so Apple also swept away this Multiple windows feature.

What other features you find out that have missed in iTunes 11? Find the missing only for enjoying iTunes sufficiently. And there are many other ways to make the most of iTunes, like using AAC to MP3 converter for Mac can let us enjoy music under AAC format in iTunes. Enjoy iTunes 11!
