Overview

The Toyota Fortuner was launched in 2005. It is a pickup-truck-based passenger vehicle (PPV) manufactured by Japanese car behemoth Toyota. The Toyota Fortuner is a part of Toyota's Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) platform. This Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) is designed in Thailand by Thai and Japanese engineers. The Fortuner has a brawny and butch design with an outstanding performance. The massive SUV comes with an All-Time Four Wheel Drive.


Powertrain & Performance


The Toyota Fortuner is powered by 3.0 L TDCI D-4D, DOHC diesel engine which is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission gear box. This engine offers a brilliant performance, superb reliability and exceptional off-road ability. The Fortuner comes with Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control which provide excellent suspension dynamics. The SUV sports rear spoiler that contributes to impressive aerodynamics.

The Fortuner comes with an innate ability to clobber potholes, lumps and bumps without batting an eyelid. The big wheels and the suspension simply absorb anything you can throw at it with little fuss and the Fortuner rarely gets deflected off–line. The Fortuner has excellent all terrain capabilities with its All–Time Four Wheel Drive. Toyota has equipped it with the right tyres, and in low–range mode, it’ll pull through soft stuff with the same ease that a Maruti Wagon R negotiates a parking lot. It doesn’t come with any form of ESP, traction control or hill descent control though.The 4x4 drive has exceptional all terrain capabilities. The H, HL and LL Modes for provides the SUV with maximum traction.

The Toyota Fortuner carries itself in a typical old-school SUVs design. The mammoth SUV is adorned with a hood scoop that stylize its large stance. The powerful headlamps are curved around the grille to create a mesmerizing effect. Moreover, the fog lamps housed on the large bumpers calls for attention. The beautifully crafted roof rail accentuates the good looks of the SUV. The front fascia is urban without being gaudy. The same cool look is maintained at the rear end with the large tail lamps. The car runs on 17inch alloy wheels.

The Toyota Fortuner can boast of a spacious interior. The interior is decked up with a double-tone dashboard and leather upholstery. A touch-screen interface is installed on the dashboard for easy maneuvering of audio system, GPS etc. The Climatronic AC system is placed below it. The driver is pampered with a tilt-adjust steering. There is ample of legroom with comfortable sitting for seven persons in three rows of seat. The seats come with six-directional adjustment. The third row can be folded sidewise to accommodate more luggages and other paraphernalia.

The Fortuner Safety includes safety features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), SRS front airbags, dynamic safety engineering, laminated glazed windscreen, front and rear side impact door beams, and front/rear seat belts. The car also comes with sonar back for easy parking in narrow space.
