SoftLayer Catalyst

As you might know, Japanese IT sector holds "Developers Summit" (abbrev."devsumi") in Tokyo in the mid-February every year.

In this year Mr. Phil Jackson from SoftLayer, an IBM company and Cloud computing company came to Japan and made the first speech at devsumi. After daytime sessions of devsumi, SoftLayer and IBM Japan held "SoftLayer Bloggers Meet-Up" nearby.

SoftLayer provides the free startup supporting program for future entrepreneurs. Mr. A. Mui, Startup Technologist and a member of Catalyst team, introduced us their Catalyst Startup Program.

The breakdowns of Catalyst Startup Program are :

- $1,000/month Hosting Credit

- They will support you for 12 months

- Increased Market Visibility

- Mentorship from SoftLayer Innovation Team
They say all six mentors have a successful experience as a entrepreneur.

Mr. Mui lives in Los Angeles, US, and he is supporting even new graduates from UCLA and some universities in LA, who want to try the startup.

In Japan, we don't know the effective ideas for new startup well. Hence, nobody can be taught the same anywhere else. Japanese can do believe we are really successful only by obtaining actual financial success from their business. That's why Japanese tend to think new startup is mostly dangerous and almost difficult to reach a success. So, I'm so pleased and welcoming SoftLayer came to Japan.

I recommend that if you want to launch Japan business, please do NOT rely on IT friends in Japan. I'm afraid to mention we can NOT give you any effective ideas for your Japan business. We may be mad into IT world,,,.

I mean startup expertise like SoftLayer is stronger and more effective than even close friends connections in Japan business. So, you had better join SoftLayer Catalyst Startup Program, or ask the brief overview once at India Embassy of Japan. I think your embassy has their economic and commercial sectors.
