The Journey So Far:
I started as a Software developer , module lead , tech lead , solution architect and now as performance Architect. I have mostly involved in some very interesting Software Product Development work. Indian IT future should be product development , i hope our IT industry would get into this area.
Job Profile:
I work as a software Architect who addresses performance issues and also once in while develops pieces of code that help customers of our products. I am also involved in addressing Architectural bottlenecks and solving them.
The Decisions That Matter
Software is all about creativity and continuous learning. By investing continuously in training and being part of open source community gives you a visibility that enhances ones career prospects .I have also stuck to knowing more about the domains that i work it and that rewarded me well.
Career Profile:
I work on fixing Performance problems and mentoring fresh graduates.Previously i never had a chance to share knowledge with youngsters.
Degrees That Matter:
Microsoft Certifications , Architect certifications from Oracle on java/oracle as well as pro metric certifications on Databases would help.
Working Life Management:
Doing a lot of planning and identifying areas that might be problematic would help in better work life balance. No balance and you would be stressed out. I call a spade a spade and it has worked many times for me.
Done Differently:
My present career was beneficial to me only. I would like to do something that benefits our country and over the years depending on my financial positions would look at Solar Energy, clean water technologies to change our rural population for the better.
Plans For The Future:
Creating and growing my own start-up that is a focussed on Business Analytics.I want to see our startup as a big player in the Analytic space.
Prized Accomplishment(s):
Designing and writing software that had huge impacts for industries and mentoring a whole lot of great talents.
Growth Strategy:
I am right now actively involved in starting a Business Analytics based venture in the United States with couple of my professional friends .Basically this venture would be addressing the areas like Health Insurance , Food , cosmetics and Bio Technology verticals.
Other Thoughts:
For our IT friends who read SiliconIndia , please look at the discussions in Silcion India and you will find that the future of IT revolves around cloud computing, Business Analytics and PAAS.we need to equip ourself accordingly or we will end up like Dinosaurs.
Required Reading:
Anything on Analytics , books on Amazon Cloud framework, MS Azure and on Google cloud framework.Books on Android. There will be huge openings in this areas where our pros can shine.
Role Model:
Bill Gates and Stephen Hawking . Bill Gates knew what he wanted and where he wanted to go and so we have Microsoft. Stephan Hawking is full of passion and courage and inspite of his medical conditions has impacted the world with his Genius.People like him will lead humans to the space age.
