Bikash Kumar Roy's Story

The Journey So Far:
I started my career with a company named RPO Solutions. It was the 3rd party outsourced for manpower. Working there was a great experience but I could not continue for long but just 3 months. Now I am with Oxigen and delievering my core services to the organization.
Job Profile:
My job profile includes providing technical training to the newly hired sales team, newly acquired dealers, retailers etc. It also includes providing organizational training to the employees.
The Decisions That Matter
I always wanted to be a programmer in software industry but with the passage of time I changed my decision and I leant forward to the management field. I analysed my core potential and hence opted for the Human Resource with specific category called Training & Development.
Career Profile:
My current responsibilities include all the aspects of training. I am a trainer for the newly hired employees in sales, new dealers, new retailers. It also include propoer feedback of the trainees to the management and hence it's totally different from my previous profile in which I was recruiter.
Degrees That Matter:
Yes, ofcourse. Certification of SAP training is now-a-days been asked by the MNCs for geeting into.
Working Life Management:
The home works never disturbed my personal life as I easily managed balance between these two. I travel a lot and hence take the advantage of it. I use to finish my extra works while travelling and live the personal life with no work pressure.
Plans For The Future:
As I am so specific about my field so I want to be at the managerial position in a couple of years from now. Since 1 or 2 years are not sufficient to be at the top most position.
Prized Accomplishment(s):
One of my most proud accomplishment was during my PG. I was the head cordinator of the Inter-college Annual fest which brought me lots of responsibilities. I managed a team of 200 co-ordinators who worked under me. Me with my subordinates were successfully able to execute the 2-day fest remarkably.
Other Thoughts:
Yes, ofcourse, my personal beliefs and values. I personally believe that the corporate career of now-a-days have become competitive but one wins who have potential. So the generation must try to acquire potential not only certificates and degrees.
Required Reading:
I personally appreciate the book Marketing Management(by Philip Kotler), Human Resource Management(by VSP Rao) and The C Programming(by Yashwant Kanitkar). These books played an important role in my academic career. Apart from study materials I also appreciate the novels by Chetan Bhagat.
Role Model:
Since my childhood I had been fond of M.K Gandhi. I grabbed a lots of his nature aspects and brought into myself. But as career grows I became passionate about corporate world. Now as such no role model for me. I am aspiring to create my own icon.
