Bibik Balachandran's Story

The Journey So Far:
Started as a desktop support engineer, then moved to server side. Along with servers, I started doing software programs. And later moved to management side. Now I feel myself multi-skilled with multiple softwares, servers and project management.
The Decisions That Matter
The most important career decision i made was, resigning from HP and joining Barclays. That means, changing my career level from technical side to pure management. It changed my career a lot.
Career Profile:
All my previous profiles were of technical or else management. But now I feel more into management along with improving my technical skill sets. This will give an edge in the field of IT.
Degrees That Matter:
PMP/Prince2 - Project Management MCITP/VCP/CCIE/RHCE - Technical Side
Working Life Management:
Work Smarter Not Harder - If so, anyone can get enough time for family and friends, even while enjoying work. Love the work that you are doing, instead of being a slave to your work.
Done Differently:
I will not do anything differently. I started my career in the best way that I can. Started working with companies where I can master IT skills. Then moved to companies where I can master management skills.
Plans For The Future:
I see myself in the ladder of success. In couple of years, I can make myself as one of the most successful entrepreneurs around the world.
Prized Accomplishment(s):
I am proud of, being a part(as a Project Manager) of many large projects for Dubai-First and Barclays. Successfully completing large projects and getting client appraisals are big achievement than getting big paychecks.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
Professional environment has changed a lot with more competition. But there are many opportunities for skilled people. There are hundreds of new companies coming in the sector.
Growth Strategy:
Never Stop Learning. Doing more and more researches/courses/certifications to stay upfront in the current IT sector.
