Pakistani Incompetence

There was a general euphoria in India because of "Basti ka Kutta" for that is what "Slumdog" means.

Isn't it ironical that even 60 years after Independence a foreigner pats you on the back and calls you a "dog", and we Indians find ourselves in the seventh heavens?

About 45 years ago a movie was made based on a play by the name of "Pygmalion", written by George Bernard Shaw. They called it "My Fair Lady". It had a similar storykine of a poor girl making it to the top by just changing her pronunciation.

Why did they not call it the "Slumbitch"?

Was it because the characters were based on people living in England?

Fortunately, the euphoria for some and shame for others, was cut short by the happenings in Pakistan.

How many proverbs / sayings do you know which describe Pakistan's condition after the blast at Lahore.

"Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones"

"As you sow, so shall you reap”?

"Those who dig trenches for others are the first to fall in them"

"They that sow the wind shall reap the whirlwind"

Newton's "Every law has an equal and opposite reaction"

"Boya beej babul ka to aam kaha se hoi" meaning

If you sow the seeds of babul, how can you expect mangoes.

I suppose there must be many, which do not come to memory, and we could make up many.

But the basic moral in the story is what Swami Vivekananda said, "Every karma produces a reaction, a good karma produces a good reaction and a bad karma produces a bad reaction..

I am sorry for all those who have been killed or injured. It is always the general public who suffer. The persons responsible go unharmed.

The Mumbai massacre and the deaths were understandable. There is no power on earth that can predict where the terrorists would strike next. Our government can only take precautions to provide security to the important places. The other places remain unprotected which the terrorists can bomb anytime they want.

What happened in Pakistan is unpardonable.

Sri Lanka had undertaken the tour in spite of knowing the risks involved. It was the Pakistan Governments duty to provide the highest level of security and as Ex-President Mussaraf said, any person breaking the security should have been shot dead within 3 seconds.

That they broke the security unchallenged, killed so many policemen and injured others and then walked away casually shows that the government did not take security seriously.

Chris Broad was perfectly right in saying what he did and for Miandad and Younis to take offence is like "Chori, upar se seena Jori"

If anyone had been through what the players and umpires had gone through, he would have said the same things and even worse.

I would suggest that as long as the Taliban, Al-Quaida and other terrorist organisations have any presence in Pakistan, the whole world should boycott Pakistan as even the Army is supporting these terrorists.

If Javed Miandad and Younis Khan were serious, they should ask explanation from the army and not from Chris Broad.

Our own IPL is in a quandary.

The central government is backing out on providing security to the matches and the states are following suit because of shortage of security personnel.

It would be best if the matches were held one month after the election results were announced, after a government was formed to provide security. There is no point in trying to squeeze the matches in between.

We cannot afford to be made a laughing stock like Pakistan.

We should not sacrifice the lives of anybody just because IPL is under contract.

Lives are more important than money. If necessary the money should be returned.

Play-acting has started on the political front.

Congress and SP squabbling for seats in UP.

Congress and Trinumul (Mamata) squabbling in Bengal.

BJP and BJD squabbling in Orissa.

Congress and NCP and BJP and Shiv Sena in Maharashtra.

Different permutations of corrupt, more corrupt and most corrupt are being worked out.

God Bless India.
