Multimedia Courses. How should they be?

Director Film Production
Friends, I wanted to share this for a long time now and finally i got this moment to speak my heart out. This is for all the Multimedia Institutes that are running currently in India. I would like to appeal to them to give the right kind of counseling to the students who aspire to make their mark in this Industry. I as a professional in the industry am seeing so many passouts and dropouts who come for a job to me, have not been given a proper guidance about the future prospects in the industry. These students are not even given a bit of feel of how the industry works. They come in as trainees but they are not even equipped to be trainees. I petty them when I see the kind of course structure they have been through for a year or even more. the software that they are thought are not relevant to the discipline they are aspiring. Here I will quote an example. If someone wants to be a website designer then the person would need to learn just 3 software. Adobe Photoshp, Corel Draw and Dreamweaver and if more the Adobe Flash. But the institute would take them through a lengthy process of learning all other irrelevant software like After effects, 3D max and all which in his life he will never need. These 2 software are for hardcore Graphic designer. So, I am not at all happy with the course design of these institute. More things that worry me are when I speak with these students is the kind of time spent on each software. I really don't know who is designing these courses as what I have learnt is that instead of starting from basics like we do in kindergarten 'ABC' they probably start with D then teach B and then A and all this is to mainly keep the student bound. As a student once learns 'ABC' might not need to learn a 'D' or 'E' and can get a job. So the focus is not on learning it is mainly on making money. I see students cry over no repeat classes given, even if you have not understood the thing or if you were not present for the class. I am still to come across a student from these institutes who is eligible to join us without any hiccups.

I would like to suggest here that I am open for free counseling over the mail to any and all who aspire to be in this industry and are looking forward to make a carrier here. I can guide them as per their aspirations on how and what software they need to know, also what all they can learn on the Job.

So feel free to mail me at sanjeevchopra@gmail.com. I would like to share my experience for developing better media and multimedia professionals.

I am recommending one place where one gets dedicated training on individual software with the students job oriented focus. Gravity Multimedia Solutions
