Veshno Devi yatra: Take the divine Blessings of Deity

Veshno Devi shrine near Katra is one of the sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites in India. It is where thousands of devotees flock in order to catch glimpse of maa Veshno Devi, who is in form of three natural pindis, and to get their wishes fulfilled. It is said that the devotees could make to this place get invitation from Maa veshno Devi.



It is therefore thousands of devotees can be seen trekking to the steep route to the cave. No tension, no fear of fatigue and no stress on mind – they just move on chanting ‘Jai Mata Di’ all the way to the cave.

The holy temple of Maa Veshno Devi is located at an altitude of about 5300 feet amidst lush green Trikuta Mountain. On religious context, this place is very sacred for Hindus, as it is where Goddess Veshno commenced meditation in the cave. Later on, she beheaded Bharav Nath who later accepts his faults and is now worshiped due to the Goddess’s blessings.

All the devotees, after darshan in the holy cave, pay a visit to the Bharav temple in Bharav Ghati (about 2km from the shrine) to get full result of the pilgrimage.Although the temple is visited year-round, the best time to come here between February and April. It is when the weather is perfect, neither chilly nor hot.

Excellent arrangements have been made for devotees en route. Even ponies, horses and helicopter rides are available for those who are unable to trek so long. Like Amarnath yatra, this pilgrimage is also very popular among Hindus and taken by thousands of devotees every day. Many travel companies provide tour packages for Veshno Devi visit, same like the Amarnath yatra packages.
