RAHUL OUTBURST

Rahul Gandhi strode in to a press conference hosted by his party/s media manager Mr.Ajay Maken , pulled up his sleeves and vent his anger against the ordinance awaiting Presidential nod for promulgation. He called it utter nonsense to be thrown in to dustbin. Opposition was split as BJP called it an insult to the institution of the Priome Minister which they had many times insultedas if it is their sole right. Sanjay Baru PM's former media advisor advised him to take the next available flight to New Delhi and put in his papers. Media slogged over time in hairspliting the comments with most mediamen blaming Rahul for immature and equally arrogant comments. Some believed it is a theatrical absudity played out in public to win public sympathy for the party paralysed as it is by Modi blitzkrieg.

Rahul was right and forthright incalling this ordinance a nonsense. He could have been more civilised but he chose to vent his anger because he feared that this could end up as a backlash. Many in the media thought that since his mother had been privy to this ordinance in the high powered committe, what he was doing is simply taking high moral ground. Parallels were drawn in to his fathers' open criticism of then foreign Secretary AP Venkateswaran when he tendered his resignation. Rahul later on sent an email to the Prime Minister expressing his admiration for his leadership(or the lack of it) PM would not have anticipated this outburst especially he has taken extra care to promote Rahul. A few weeks ago, PM expressed his willingness to work under Rahul stifling out even remote chances of anyone in his party aspiring to don his mantle.

Rahul is a young man, sincere and hardworking. He has made tremendous contributionto revitalise the party and has fought for probity in public life unlike anyone else before him. He has ingrained many of the qualities of Rajiv and even if symbolic has shared the concerns of the aam adhmi. Last week in Rajastan he had said he was willing to forgo his dreams  and work to realise the dreams of the aam adhmi.

The criticism against Rahul are baseless.
