Is your mailbox safe from spam

People who are having a virtual identity must have been blessed with one or more email-id/s.

The innovation of internet has smoothen our communication via e-mail medium. But with the advent of goods there come its side effects. The side effects has been witnessed in form of Spam.

Any unsolicited mail which is not intent for you and has been sent without user consent will be considered as spam.

"Spam" has risen with the passing decade in its terminology and its existence.
Spammers are not leaving any stones unturned in their findings and making their presence felt where user credentials can be found at optimum level.

There are few do's and don't for users to take care of their mailbox.

Do's
======
1. Create folders and categorize your mails as according.
2. Select your existing and incoming mails and associate them to the respective folder.
3. Do mark a mail which is spam that will in turn help your service provider to give you better service.
4. Block such email-ids that are sending you spam.
5. Before registering to any social site and participating in survey cross check the page authenticity.
6. If possible set filters to avoid spam coming in a particular pattern.
7. Prevent your email id as posted on social sites from the catch of spy software by changing its format.
ex. xyz@xyz.com can be written as "xyzATTHERATEOFxyzDOTcom".

Don't
======
1. Prevent yourself from registering on various online social sites before being sure of its authentication.
2. Do not click any unknown given link in the mail whose sender is not known to you.
3. Do not respond to mail which demands your response by luring you for finance, leisure, health, Pornography etc.
4. Do not respond to mail which demands your credentials unless expected from trusted source.
5. Do not distribute your mail id to unknown domains.

Note: I will be updating this blog whensoever I come with new idea to prevent spam from our mailbox.

You might be aware of these facts but it is always good in case if you are missing some points or it may just works as a gentle reminder.
