Story of Recession

Founder of Telecomblogs India

After a brief hiatus, I have decided to post something about recession. It was a love affair when it started some months back, but I feel by the end of Q4 the honeymoon is going to be over. And at end there won't be any love affair at all. Who cares? Yes I am talking about recession in market.

The recession is actually hitting now. The famous or rather infamous recession has reached to our doorsteps and entered silently in our lives. There is a beautiful story by Zen Author on recession. Let me share with you. Once upon a time, there was a Burger Shop called Mitchell’s in Western US. Let's say in California. The owner Mr. Rich was a happy man. Whyn't? After all he was earning a huge profit, day by day, month by month, and year by year, by selling burgers. A school drop out, but master in making classic American burgers. People used to flock his shop on eve, to have a bite of pleasure on western coast. In short, he was running a good business. Of course I forgot to mention, he was unaware of recession of any kind.

In summer, when his proud son came for vacation from Harvard, he thought of showing him some great recipes of making burger and ways of selling it. Whyn't? Son was doing Masters in management from one of the elite schools on planet. Son of course a learned man, hardly impressed with the way father was selling burger. The issue was that, father used to give lots of freeway items with each burger. He was bit apprehensive, with the way father was running shop. Of course, I forgot to tell you, he was aware of recession in market and the remedy of tackling recession ‘Cost Cutting’.

At the end of vacation, before departure son expressed his dissatisfaction with freeway items. He told "Father! Beware! There is recession out in market! We should spend our resources wisely. Don't be silly, you are wasting it"

Father, who was quick to understand the remarks of a Harvard MBA, acted upon the situation in lightening speed. From next day onwards he started reducing freeway items. After some days he stopped selling any kind freeway item with burger.

As an intelligent reader, now you know the end of story. People visiting shop declined exponentially. After some time, business went to slump. Father, with deep regret muttered "Yes, Son was right, there is recession in market. I shouldn't have wasted my resources"

The moral of story, you never know there is recession. But when you know, it hardly matters.

Good Night!!!
