Did you talk to your best friend today ?

Globally Billions of USD are spent on training to speak effectively, present forcefully.  Few join coaching classes, others hire coaches and fewer join Toastmasters International.

How much time we spend communicating with others ?  Probably a life time.  No sooner we get up we are on the phone, with office colleagues in the office and friends thereafter.  Weekends are spent socializing, chatting and quizzing friends.  And still we are unsatisfied, hungry and continue the role play next morning.  But we neglect to talk to the most important friend, “YOURSELF.”

The famous Hindi movies “ Three idiots” had a powerful message when Amir Khan  says “Whenever I am in trouble I just tap my chest and say “All is well”  and all calms down, stress evaporates and peace prevails.  A very powerful message indeed.

When was the last time you sat in silence and initiated dialogue with you.  And said “All is well.”   May be eternity ! The challenge is most of us ignore self dialogue and the rest don’t talk the same language.  And resultant our body attempts one way dialogue  in the language of dreams, exhaustion, pain and stress; pleading with us to listen, cut down and probably slow down before it’s too late.

Its imperative that we spend time with our self in silence. And  Meditation is one way of filling that vacuum but that’s not all.  To achieve mastery in the art of communications it’s important that you hone the skills to communicate with others and its imperative you hone and practice those skills with yourself  as well. Hence starting today be selfish; invest 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes before going to bed talking to yourself in silence, it will change your life for the pinnacle.
