Countries are losing GDP and failing to create jobs, businesses are closing and failing to make profits, individuals are losing jobs and failing to fit into the evolving economies.

Times will get tougher and competition stronger hence you must insulate yourself from the vagaries of fluid economies.  And to do so, prepare to work in the future, that is Learn, Practice and Adopt new skills to face the future.  And the five most important skills to galvanise you for the fluid economy are the 5x A’s

  1. Always be Connecting: Connect on Facebook, Connect on LinkedIn and connect on Twitter.  More importantly, when you meet an interesting person exchange cards with an assurance to meet later.
  2. Always be learning Digital knowledge: IBM created the first commercial PCs, Motorola created the mobile phone, Tim Berners-Lee invented the Internet and since then technology has stepped on the accelerator.   Increase your pace of digital knowledge absorption and use that to enhance your business and personal persona.
  3. Always be sharing knowledge and helping others: The world has shrunk and is constricting faster.  People have challenges and people have solutions.   It does not matter on which side of the fence you are, communicate your challenges and share your solutions with the masses because there is no better way to emerge a winner then to communicate.
  4. Always be Marketing yourself: It’s important to enhance your knowledge, connections and share your knowledge but it’s EXTREMELY VITAL that you market yourself to the outside world.  Use digital tools such as FB, Twitter LinkedIn and Blogging to market your wares.
  5. Always be Creating: The most important part of the basket of activities is to ALWAYS BE CREATING.  This does not restrict itself to new creation but also encompasses actively participating in discussions and making your ideas and views public.

These activities are not one time exercises but adopted as part of your daily ritual.  Start practicing the 5x A’s and share the CHANGE after a period of 30 days.
