Students of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools will now have to finish their class projects during school hours, according to a recent choice by the board.

The Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) structure, presented by the CBSEboard three decades ago, needs students to perform tasks relevant to their topics in the class room, which could previously be done at house. This will modify beginning from the next educational season.

“The project will be program oriented. This will help decrease the problem on parents,” said Vineet Joshi, chairman of CBSE.

City principal said the shift was a excellent one. “We discovered out that a lot of projects are available in the marketplace and kids often buy them ready made. This shift will help generate visibility,” said Deepshikha Srivastava, key, Rajhans Vidyalaya, Andheri.

“The child’s participation is more essential than the project’s result,” said Cherian Henry, key, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Powai.

CBSE has also presented health and gym as an optionally available topic for Class 11 and 12. The board also wants mother and father to socialize with the board and act as source individuals. “Parents can sign-up themselves with the board to provide recommendations on the program,” Joshi included.
