UPSC: No re-evaluation of question papers: Delhi High Court

Delhi High Court dismissed the possibility of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam answer sheets being re-evaluated due to absence of any rule to do so.

The bench declared that there is no rule of UPSC entitling a candidate to seek re-evaluation of his answer sheets.

The decision is a big blow for UPSC aspirants. No candidate will now be able to ask for re-assessment of his answer sheet even if he/she wants to.

Syed Ali had sought the bench's direction to UPSC to declare him successful candidate as he had not been able to clear the main examination.

The decision followed civil service aspirant Syed Shabbir Ali's plea to re-access his answer sheet. Syed Ali had challenged Central Administrative Tribunal's (CAT) order against the re-evaluation of his answer sheet in the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2006.
