The Real Strength

When we discover or design something new in the routine work it gives satisfaction . We become happy and feel powerful. Do more of those things. Creative people devote most of their attention to their exciting work. Reading lives of most famous creative people, we find how they could change the way people saw , understood or did the things before to their discoveries and inventions.

When I was in middle school I got a prize in a competition and it was a book ‘Vayu Yan Ki Kahani’(Hindi). Book about the Wright Brothers(Wilber& Orville) and their world changing invention, how they developed the first airplane.

The book described their childhood playing with toy gliders, developing interest in flying, reading in their father’s library and doing experiments.

Wright Brothers did experiments on engines in their bicycle shop using bicycle wheels, ball bearings, gear boxes. Experiments they did with different type of kites made by them in open fields.

They observed birds and their body shapes. They had realized that birds could fly because they have hollow bones and therefore are very light. Designed model gliders and studied what kept them up and how they floated in air.

Worked out the plan what to do next, where from to get what. When one of them sick the other carried on the experiment. Passed unsuccessful moments of the experiments without loosing hope. They achieved historical success of flying.

They demonstrated in public where the flight went up with own power. They modeled the first aeroplane with an internal combustion engine to achieve controlled and sustained flight.

Besides working in their bicycle shop , Wilber was doing a job, folding of copies of local newspaper. He found the work tedious and invented a folding device to do it for him. Interest in flying was common to both of them. Wilber had a greater critical and managerial capability . It was he who worked out and developed his own as well as Orvilles ideas.

People become more creative when they can meet like minded people and where their work can be appreciated. Beautiful or inspiring environments are better at helping people to be more creative thinkers.
