Trial and Error, the method people try

Trial and error method is  used widely by people where one has little or no knowledge while dealing with a subject or problem area. If we observe the working of people around, we find mostly people take help of this method.

A school student learning to play a new computer game without being told by anybody how to play.

A person decorating his house by arranging furnitures and fixtures in all the rooms for easy use  and beautiful look.

A person connecting all peripherals and units of a personal computer without any knowledge in the field of computer. Correcting error arising  in operation of a computer with little knowledge of operating system.

These are simple examples where we find people get good solutions and success by applying trial and error.

Trial and error is a well known method of solving problems in science and engineering  .  In this method a guess is made and tried. The result is analysed for  failure  and a change is made in the guess and tried again.

The method is used in many disciplines such as polymer technologies to find new polymer type, used by Chemists   to find new drugs, for solving equations in Mathematics and Computer science. Where no apparent rule applies this approach is more successful.

When someone suddenly comes across an unexpected dangerous situation , this is the method which starts working for a solution to tackle the danger.
