Should Infosys venture to cities like Mysore, Kochi, Madurai?
Software major Infosys was eyeing Tier-II cities like Tiruchirapalli andMadurai in Tamil Nadu for its expansion once the global economy recovered fromthe current recession, a top company official has said.
The company had already established its units in tier-II cities like Mysore,Mangalore, Kochi, Bhubaneswar and Chandigarh, Infosys CEO and Managing DirectorS Gopalakrishnan said in a lecture at a meeting organised by the local unit ofCII here last weekend.
He said he anticipated the global economic situation to improve by the end ofthis year and IT activities to emerge on top as before.
Infosys had not lost even a single customer during the global recession, butcould have lost some revenue from certain companies, he said.
As of now, North American clients accounted for 62 per cent of its exportrevenues and European clientele 26 per cent, he said.
