Cant we be like china?????
They know how to make goods at the cheapest and we know how to save money( by purchasing the cheap made goods)!
Now what about the government and political class??
They know how to restrict the inflow of competition to the maximum possible extent so that their close bussiness class never become victims of competition!
I may sound bit odd and unrealistic but I can assure the readers that Iam practical in my contention. New delhi has signed on the dotted line of free and open market policy to asian brigade inviting the nightmare "China" deep into indian markets.
Now the question to be asked upon: should we or should we not let this happen
Firstly, we are neither compromising for money nor we sacrificing our national intrest to please and propel chinese economy. The deal is a give and take driven and through this we would too get a chance to trade with the vast chinese market.
Yeah, Chinese do suffer with obsession of producing cheap goods and we may never sound that cheap howmuch ever we try.
The treaty provides equal rights for both the nations to exploit each others markets hence rather than being protective(which we were till 1991) we must think in competative terms.
The first question with us is why are we not able to produce the goods that cheaper??
Ofcourse i dont mean that we must produce a mobile at 100 rupees or a hitech electronic toy at 10 rupees and yet make loads of profits. My focus is on the reasons behind our failure to produce cost effective goods.
Firstly we lack proper infrastructure. Our infrastructure is both broken and inefficient.
Neither the goods nor the raw materials reach on time
Secoundly our passion towards promoting rural entrepreneurs !
Nops, these are not assets but the silent spoilers of our economy. Neither they produce nor they export yet they make money. So what do they do??
They are mediaters or brokers who act as a tier between producer and consumer. Thanks to these brokers that neither producers gain nor consumers get cheap goods.
Government's inert role is the major reason behind the expansion of this evil.
Why cannot government devolop a system wherein the producers gets direct access to consumer???
If this happens, iam sure, we would get much better if not on par with chinese goods.
We must learn to be positive as an economy and hence accept challenges rather than being protective and rigid.
