When a body reaches a morgue, the body is passed through a standard CD scanner. Once the scanning process is done, the data generated by the scanner is captured. By rendering the data, a full 3D body is created virtually. The pathologist in his visualization room can access this virtual body, where in he can sit comfortably in his own room with visualization panel and he can view all these 3D bodies. iGene develops preset set of tools and navigational tools, so that the doctors can do the postmortem using these tools. The entire autopsy process can be completed within 35 to 40 minutes. While the pathologist is doing the autopsy digitally, he can go either by geographical region or layer by layer, and still the original body is not affected. The company is working with many hospitals, educational institutions in North America, Latin America, European groups, and Carribean Group. As the company is planning to go international, iGene is scouting for funding right now. Suresh thinks that, for any company timing is very important to position itself in the market. I hope this Indian will be keen in making this technology available in India as soon as possible.
