Is your PC got hacked? Are you stuck? Lets know what should/could be done at times when you notice your PC being hacked.

1. Immediately pull out the LAN cable either from the IO socket or from your CPU. This will break the connectivity to your PC and Internet.

2. Now diagnose the situation. Definitely you are logged in by Admin a/c. Go to C:\> and look if there some unknown application lying having extension as .EXE or .BAT. If yes, then delete it.

3. Just have a look to your Task Manager that is there any unwanted process running or not. Note down the process if yes, and stop them.

4. Go to run command and type SERVICES.MSC and navigate through it that if any unwanted services are running or not. If yes, note down that and stop immediately.

5. Now go to TEMP folder by typing TEMP at the run command. Delete every item.

6. Now go to the TEMP folder of your profile by typing %TEMP% at the run command. Delete every item.

7. Now time to watch the hosts file. Type DRIVERS into run command and select ETC and then find out host file from it. Double click it and open it through notepad. Navigate till last. Any unknown entry (i.e. if some unknown IP address or Domain name) delete the entries.

8. Type APPWIZ.CPL at the run command and find out if there any unwanted softwares installed in your PC. If yes, then uninstall the same. After un-installation, plz reboot the system. Then go to c: drive and have a look into the Program Files folder that is there any folder or shortcut remaining of thee uninstalled software or not. Delete them if yes.

9. Also don’t forget to refer the startup items. Is there any .BAT file or any .EXE file? Yes? Delete it.

10. Also have a look to the MSCONFIG (type into run command). Go to the STARTUP tab and see if any unwanted program is there or not. If yes, uncheck it.

If you are done with all the 10 points mentioned above, believe me, you are set free from the hacker. But don’t forget, that when next time you connect to the internet with ADMIN a/c, you are inviting the Hacker with a formal invitation…
